Ray Flynn, one of the great Irish middle distance runners of the 1970s and 1980s, is now one the leading runners' agents on the planet, and he's taken on a new role – as Meet Director of the Millrose Games, which will, for the first time,  be at the Armory in upper Manhattan on February 11. Jenny Simpson, Bernard Lagat, Matthew Centrowitz, LaShawn Merritt, and Sanya Richards-Ross are among the athletes committed to appearing. Flynn also has a keen interest in what happens this Saturday in Houston. The athletes entered in the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials who are represented by his Flynn Sports Management include Ryan Hall, Deena Kastor, Amy Hastings, Magdalena Lewy Boulet, Blake Russell, Stephanie Rothstein, Abdi Abdirahman, and Andrew Carlson. As a runner himself, Flynn clocked 89 sub-4:00 miles, including a best of 3:49.77. Flynn, who competed frequently in the Millrose Games when they were at Madison Square Garden, is part of a revered era of Irish middle distance running in which Eamonn Coghlan, Marcus O'Sullivan, and Frank O'Mara were among his co-stars.
