New Jersey’s Ajee’ Wilson, a 2012 gradate of Neptune High School, won the silver medal in the women’s 800-meter run at the IAAF World Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday afternoon in Portland, Oregon.

The 21-year-old Wilson, who won the U.S. 800 title last week and is a World Youth and World Junior Champion at 800, grabbed the lead right away with a 29.23 first 200. After falling back to third, Wilson rallied with a strong kick over the final 50 meters to pass Margaret Nyairera Wambui of Kenya and secure second place in 2:00.27. Francine Niyonsaba of Burundi won the race in 2:00.01.
