2009: Finished 7th at the USA indoor champs. Did not compete at the USA outdoor champs due to an injury. Season best jumps of 2.20m (7-2.5) indoors and outdoors.
2008: Tied a season best jump indoors of 2.22m (7-3.25) to place 4th at the USA indoor champs. Outdoors jumped a season best 2.25m (7-4.5) to win the Kansas Relays. Placed 11th at the Olympic Trials with 2.19m (7-2.25).
2007: Jumped 2.30m (7-6.5) in Madison, WI for the win. Went on to win the NCAA D2 champs with a jump of 2.25m (7-4.5). Outdoors jumped a season best 2.30m (7-6.5) to win the Drake Relays. Then went on to win the NCAA D2 Outdoor champs and the USA Outdoor champs both times jumping 2.27m (7-5.25). Winning the USA champs qualified him for the World Champs in Osaka, Japan. He jumped in Osaka but failed to make the finals with a 2.19m (7-2.25) jump. Jumped a season best indoors and outdoors of 2.30m (7-6.5).
2006: Indoors had several solid jumps topped by his win at the NCAA D2 champs with a 2.29m (7-6) jump which set a D2 national record. Outdoors he finished 3rd at the D2 Nationals with a 2.17m (7-1.5) jump and finished up the season with a NH at the USA champs. Finished with season bests 2.21m (7-3) Outdoors and 2.29m (7-6) indoors.
2005: Finished 2nd at the D2 indoor champs with a 2.15m (7-0.5) jump. Outdoors won the Mt. Sac College Division with a 2.18m (7-1.75) jump. Then he went on the win his first D2 National title with a 2.17m (7-1.75) jump. Also competed at the USA champs where he jumped 2.12m (6-11.5) to finish 9th place. Finished with a season best 2.18m (7-1.75) Outdoors and 2.15m (7-0.5) Indoors.
2004: Attending school at Mankato Minnesota to play football, Jim came to track late in the indoor season after recovering from two broken collar bone injuries happening back to back during the fall semester. He had an Indoor best jump of 2.00m and did not qualify for the D2 National Meet. Outdoors he was the NCC Conference Champion jumping a season best of 2.05m and qualified for the D2 Nationals at Mt. Sac where he no-heighted.
2003: Wisconsin State Runner-up with a season best of 1.98m
